Project Overview

From December 2011 to July 2014, McNeal Engineering partnered with Berry Bay Farms in cooperation for the Bonita Bay Farmworker Housing project. The primary goal of this initiative was to expand Berry Bay Farms site's facilities, thus increasing the number of available housing units to comfortably accommodate their employees.

At the start of the project, the existing conditions consisted of only 12 farmworker housing units. Through the McNeal Team's dedicated design efforts, the capacity of the site was significantly improved upon. By the time of completion, the facility had been successfully permitted to support 35 housing units.

The process of expanding presented several obstacles that were environmental, requiring the design team to carefully consider existing wetlands and large oak trees throughout the property. A major highlight of the completed project was the successful engineering of a stormwater system that safely navigated and protected these environmentally sensitive areas.
